THE FOUNDATION OF EVERY STATE IS THE EDUCATION OF ITS YOUTH. -DIOGENES LAERTIUS
Dear Gulf Coast Technology Council member,
Last year's GCTC Scholarship Fund was certainly a success. Your contributions to the fund made it possible for three students to receive scholarships toward their education in technology-focused fields. Those three students were Rick Green and Will Fawcett of the University of South Alabama and Rose Clemenson at the University ofMobile. When you talk with last year's recipients, you quickly understand how valuable these scholarships were to their education.
This year we need to do even better. Excitement is proliferating on many levels in Mobile. The GCTC is growing in membership and participation. To help us to achieve our purpose as an organization, we need our members to carefully consider their contributions toward this year's scholarship fund.
The purpose of the GCTC Scholarship Fund is to foster the education of students attending Mobile area colleges and universities who are majoring in fields related to technology and to keep that talent in Mobile for years to come. There are deserving applicants that need our help. Please thoughtfully consider being a part of this important program within the GCTC.
The contribution form for the fund as well as the student application form is below. Please send your commitment for contributions or application for scholarship no later than Sept 30, 2009. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
With Grateful Appreciation,
John Strope
